This policy explains what data Off Grid Market ("we") collects, how we use it, and your rights.
What we collect
- Account info: name, email, password (hashed), profile photo
- Listing content: anything you post (titles, descriptions, photos, prices)
- Transaction data: order history, booking reservations, payment receipts (NOT card numbers — those live with Stripe)
- Communication: messages you send via the on-site mail/chat
- Technical data: IP address, browser, pages visited, referrer (standard server logs + analytics)
- OAuth data (if you sign in with Google/Facebook): your profile name, email, and avatar from the provider
How we use it
- To run the platform — show your listings, route messages, process payments
- To send transactional emails (receipts, booking confirmations, password resets)
- To prevent fraud and abuse
- To improve the site (aggregated analytics — never sold)
Who we share it with
- Stripe — payment processing (PCI-compliant; we never see your card)
- Email provider — to deliver transactional mail
- Other users — your public profile, listings, and messages you send
- Law enforcement — when legally compelled
- We never sell your data to third-party marketers.
Cookies
We use cookies for: login sessions (required), preferences (theme, last-viewed section), and analytics (anonymous). You can clear them anytime in your browser.
Your rights
- Access — download your data anytime from your dashboard
- Correction — edit your profile, listings, settings
- Deletion — close your account from settings; we delete personal data within 30 days (transaction history retained 7 years for tax/legal)
- Portability — export your listings + messages as CSV from your dashboard
- Opt out of marketing emails — link in every marketing email; transactional emails can't be opted out (required to run your account)
EU / California residents
If you're in the EU, GDPR applies — contact us to exercise your rights. If you're in California, CCPA applies — same process.
Children
OGM is not for users under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from minors.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced via email and a banner on the site.
