Real Estate

Buyers and sellers connect on Off-Grid Market and close the sale through a title company, real-estate attorney, or escrow service — the same way any private property sale is finalized.

Marketplace

Buy through our on-site checkout. Your payment is processed securely by Stripe and held safely by Off-Grid Market — it isn't released to the seller until your order ships and you confirm it arrived. That hold is your protection: it gives you a window to make sure you got what you paid for. Shipping is arranged by the seller.

Bookings

Book and pay through our on-site checkout. Your payment is processed by Stripe and held by Off-Grid Market until your stay begins, then released to the host. Cleaning fees, deposits, and cancellations follow each host's listing policy.

Services

Get a quote on Off-Grid Market, then pay the service provider directly per the terms you agree on. Common practice: written quote up front, deposit at scheduling, balance on completion.

Jobs

Applicants apply through Off-Grid Market. The employer pays the hired worker through their normal payroll, contract, or 1099 — same as any standard job listing.

Classifieds

Like a community bulletin board. Buyer and seller meet up and settle however they agree — cash, Venmo, check, etc.

How the hold works. For Marketplace and Bookings, your money is collected at checkout by Stripe and held by Off-Grid Market — it's only released to the seller or host after the order is fulfilled (shipped and confirmed delivered, or your stay underway). On top of that, Stripe handles card fraud protection and dispute resolution. For other sections, transactions happen directly between the parties — see Buyer Safety and Seller Safety for protecting yourself.

Large purchases. Online checkout currently covers everyday purchases up to a per-order limit. For higher-value buys, reach out to the seller directly to arrange the sale.
